A tiger is a large wild cat native to Asia that is the largest living member of the genus Panthera. It has yellow or orange fur with black stripes and can reach lengths of up to 13 feet (about 4 meters).
Tigers are the epitome of the apex predator and possess the most powerful bite of any large cat. They are primarily ambush predators who hunt large mammals such as deer, buffalo, and even other big cats. They are also territorial, and males can cover up to 20 square miles (about 50 square kilometers) in their hunting range.
